GPCA Nixes New Lines
The Greater Plainview
Community Association has
announced its opposition to
District lines for the proposed
Nassau County Legislature which
would divide the Plainview-Old
Bethpage community into parts
of two Legislative Districts.
Under the plan being considered
by the County Board of
Supervisors, all of Old Bethpage
and randomly scattered portions
of Plainview would be joined in
rag-tag fashion in a 14th
Legislative District whose core
would be Bethpage and Farmingdale.
The northwestern
corner of Plainview would be
joined with most (but not all) of
the eastern half of Plainview in a
crazy-quilt 12th District which
would meander from the
Nassau/ Suffolk line across the
Oyster Bay Town line and into
North Hempstead, collecting bits
and pieces of various communities
from Woodbury to
Westbury along the way.
Speaking through its attorney,
Aaron Britvan, at the March 24
hearing on the Legislative plan
before the Board of Supervisors,
the Association urged that the
lines be redrawn so that all of
Plainview-Old Bethpage would
be encompassed within a single
mingdale in June, 1975.
The Aggies will inaugurate
their tough, 14-game schedule on
March 25 hosting the Cornell Fr.
at 1 P.M. On March 27th, the

University Fr. at 3 P.M.
